Obituary of Madeline Bradford
Died peacefully with her loving daughter Marilyn Eves by her side. Madeline is survived by her sister Elizabeth Swindler of Dearborn, MI and by three children Harold Bradford (late Linda), Marilyn Eves and Jamie Watson (Nancy). She had 6 grandchildren-Kathryn Bradford, Pamela Dawson, Melissa Craig (Michael), Marnie Eves (Rebecca Carson), Jennifer Edmunds, Michael Watson and 10 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Madeline’s passions included politics, painting, the peace movement and singing. She was a devoted socialist until the very end. She was a character with a great mind, a good sense of humour and a gift of gab. Paranoid Schizophrenia crippled her for most of her life but she always managed to keep a roof over her head, food on the table and clothes on her back and was able to see two of her children graduate from University and become teachers. Survival was a lesson she learned as a child of the Great Depression and a survivor of WWII. Thanks to the staff on Belle for their compassion and superb caregiving in mom’s last days especially those nurses, PSW’s and other staff members who went above and beyond the call of duty to make Mom comfortable; you know who you are and know how very much Marilyn appreciated you care and kindness. If you so desire, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Cremation services entrusted to Cremation Society of Windsor & Essex County (519-969-5449) 3260 Dougall Ave. A private family gathering will be held in the future.
