Obituary of Bud Smith
SMITH, William Bud
Long time resident of North Bay, Bud passed away in Windsor on Saturday November 26, 2016 at the age of 80. He is survived by his daughter Dianna Moody, her children Ethan and Adam, beloved brother John Smith (Sheila), many loving nieces and children who considered him grandpa. He leaves behind friends who he always considered family including Barbra Markovich, Carolyn Hebert, Evelyn Bellamy, Jocelyn Dales, and Charlie Beaudry. Predeceased by his parents Violet and Thomas Smith and siblings Raymond (Beth) and Joyce Stoddart (Jock). Dianna writes, “My father was not the kind of man who dipped lightly into anyone's life. If you had the pleasure of knowing him he left broad strokes of generosity and kindness on your canvas. He was known for his humour, sharp wit and storytelling and being able to tell the wildest tales with a straight face. He was always that grumpy guy who you knew had a heart that was bigger than most. Above all else though he was completely dedicated to family. He contributed directly with the one thing that is the hardest for most to give. Time. His example set the bar extremely high in how we should care for each other and we are all better people for it”. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Windsor and Essex County. Cremation has taken place, spring interment at a later date. If desired, donations to the North Bay & District Humane Society would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
