Obituary of Richard, (Rick) Gately

61 years, passed away suddenly on November 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. Loving father of Sophie and Autumn who will miss him dearly and step father of Cody. Dear brother of Ken (Beth). Predeceased by his parents John & Evelyn (nee Mainwaring). Sadly missed by his cousins, family and friends, especially Kimm Ghostkeeper. Rick, born in Lancashire, England was a loving, generous gentle giant with a strong work ethic. With a remarkable family history traced to the Vikings, his ancestors came to England from Normandy in 1066 and also from Ireland. He immigrated to Canada as a youth with his parents. His sense of humour, bear hugs, Lancashire dialect monologues, and his love of family and adventure will linger in our hearts. Thank you to the hospital and EMR services, LaSalle police and Families First for their care and help. Please join the family for a celebration of Richard’s life at 7 p.m. at New Song Church, 999 Drouillard Rd, Windsor, ON N8Y 2P6.
