Beth Cole posted a condolence

Dear Ruth, I'm Don Parsons daughter Beth. I'd like to send our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Dad is in LTC now out in Amherstburg and if he could he would share many a grand memory of the good ol' football days at Patterson. I am sure that Dad and Mr Wortley shared many funny and precious memories out there on the line. I know Dad's friendship with your husband meant a lot and resides deep inside him now. May all your cherished memories that you and your family have of your husband lift you up inside and carry you through this sad time.

Dear Ruth:
We were so sorry to read that George had died. He was one of our favourite people from our days at Walkerville in the early 70s. We had many good times with both of you at various parties. Although we hadn't seen him in many years, we remember him well.
Our condolences to you and your family

What a beautiful life filled with loving and serving and celebrating with people. So many wonderful family memories poolside and at Fletcher Lake. Thanks Uncle George (and Aunt Ruth) for loving my Dad in those early days too. Creating welcoming spaces for family, in it's many combinations, to be together and to love and serve one another - that's a legacy to celebrate and a legacy to model. With much love and big family ((hugs)) all around - Heather Feather (MacEwan) Neufeld

What can I say about my old Coach Wortley from 71-74, he was a trusted partner of my other Coach Bob Miller. I can still see him on the practice grounds after school with boots on , baggy pants, clip board in hand, sometimes also maybe a cigggg.
He was always good to me , calming , steering me in the right direction, and my last year of HS at Walkerville would pick me up in the morning on Rankin Ave. in south Windsor and take me to school so I could finish my last year at WCI.
My condolences to all in the Wortley family, I’m sure he was well loved by us players who played for him back -in - the-day.
Rest In Peace Coach…..
Richard Hajdu WCI 69-74
